Since graduating from the National Theatre Drama School in 2004 Maria has been a Robot ex-prostitute/bar tender in the world of the un-dead (KISS ME WHERE YOU PUNCH ME, Glitch Bar), a heroin-smuggling junkie/Sheena Easton look-alike (STILL HOLDING, Carlton Courthouse), a stump-wielding rape victim seeking vengeance (A DISH BEST SERVED COLD, Short and Sweet 2007), a Cuban seductress with a fiery temper (THE BONES LOVE GRINGO, 45 Downstairs) and a narrator in love with a cyber love story (HOW AWESOME MET HIS MATCH, Melbourne Comedy Festival 2008). Maria’s sisters are thankful that she will remain clothed in her role as Tina, and will not have to explain what “fellatio” means to her well-meaning aunt.
