Matthew has lit many productions in a wide variety of venues over the past 25 years. Venues he has worked at include: La Mama, Tower Theatre (Malthouse), Cromwell Road Theatre, Powerhouse, Organ Factory, Open Stage, St Martins, Union Theatre and the Universal Theatre.

In 2002 he became the theatre technician for Knox Community Arts Centre in Bayswater. Touring shows he has worked on in the last year (2007-2008) include: A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, MELBOURNE COMEDY FESTIVAL ROAD-SHOW, THE CHINA INCIDENT, TRIO, MANNIX, THE PITCH, BARSTOOL, JALI BABA KUYATEH and EDUCATING RITA
